Hailing from one of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis, ACG brings his Minnesota-bred house music on 1980 House Recordings with a comprehensive selection of house jams on the Placeholder EP.
Opening track titled ‘Alright’, brings an airy rooftop vibe with lightly painted hi-hats, springy arpeggios and an escalating bassline that keeps the groove steadily throughout the track. ACG shifts the mid-arraignment with jovial cheers, swinging piano loops, and rhythmic hi-hats that sound like hamburger patties sizzling on the charcoal grill. Perfect summery tune for daytime cookouts and hangouts.
In the Middling track ‘Deeper’, ACG unravels celebratory atmosphere for an exploration of introspective serenity with elegantly bubbling drum loops, tense organs and reverberating harmonics that twinkle like bird calls lost in time. The reverberations crescendo throughout the end of the track sprinkling tying deeper sense of self-reflection and meaning.
Final track ‘On the Real’, ACG elevates to a higher state of consciousness using vividly astounding tribal beat with subdued rhythm sections and vocal samples stretched into secondary dimensions. Underlying synths and a ricocheting stab that loses its distortion and slowly tightens throughout the span of the track.
Out September 7th 2018.
